How to put this expreience in my resume?

Question by berkeleyjh: How to put this expreience in my resume?
Hello. I have two questions that I would like to ask to anyone who is knowlegable about resume format and hiring employee decision. I’m a junior college student, and looking for a summer internship now in accounting postiion with a CPA firm. However, all my experiences that I had are not really relevant with accounting.

Here are my experiences that I have.
1. I published four patents a few years ago.
2. I was a company founder, but didn’t really do jobs that are related with accounting.
3. I was a math tutor.
4. I was a network engineer for two years in Air-Force.
5. I was a production worker for one year after highschool graduation.

Would employer thinks that I do have no focus on my career?
Would these career expreiences be disadvantage because I haven’t had any accounting experience?

Lastly, I need your help about how to transform the following experience into my resume.
I’m trying to summarize the experience below into ‘Experience’ part in my resume.

On Jan 2009, I visited Korea to formally set up a contract with an office supply manufacturing company which needed to use one of the patents that I invented years ago. My audience included the company’s executive manager, the CFO, and a notary. They agreed to pay money a month in royalties for the right to use my patent.

Thank you for your help!

I’d suggest that after your contact details and profile you have a section on either ‘Achievements’ or ‘Knowledge and Skills’ In here you should include

- wrote and had approved 4 patents
- negotiated royalty agreement on a patent

All your work experience should go in the normal place on the resume
